When you connect to a library HotSpot a timer will indicate when you have to reconnect. There are multiple ways to reconnect to your Library HotSpot, depending on your library’s set up. Check the options below:
HotSpot expiry notification pop-up
Upon expiry of your HotSpot, you will receive a HotSpot expiry notification when you open PressReader again.
Simply click on the “Reconnect” button on this notification.
Check your teacup Icon
If you do not see the expiry notification, look for the teacup icon.
If this is green, you are still connected to your HotSpot.
If it is red, it means you are no longer connected to the HotSpot.
Simply click on the red teacup to open the expiry notification and click “reconnect”.
Please note: The red teacup will show for 7 days after your HotSpot access has expired.
The easiest way to reconnect is through the HotSpot expiry notification. Below is an interactive demo that shows how it works.

Not seeing the teacup at all?
If you don’t see the teacup, go to “My Account” in the top right corner (web) or under the more menu in the app. Go into your account profile.
In some cases, your library name will be visible next to Library and Group. If so, click Manage and then Reconnect.
If you don’t see your library name, select Link next to Library and Group and follow the instructions to connect to your library access.
Sign in again
If you don’t have a PressReader account, click on Sign In and select “Libraries & Groups”. Follow the instructions to connect.
What is a Hotspot?
Libraries around the world partner with PressReader to sponsor access to the PressReader catalog for their patrons and customers. We call these sponsored access points “HotSpots.” Your HotSpot access will be authenticated for a time frame set by your library (e.g. 30 days) before you have to re-authenticate and repeat the connection process.
* This functionality is currently only available for libraries in Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
